Time Flies.
This vintage pigeon‑racing timer box dates to around the 1930s–1950s and was made for The Automatic Timing Clock Co. Ltd. of Bacup, Lancashire, with ownership markings for J. Hough & Son. It once housed a racing timer used to record a pigeon’s homecoming, and the original labels inside — complete with clock and certificate numbers — still tell that story beautifully.
The box has dovetail joints, a brass latch, a leather carry handle, and a wonderfully characterful pigeon image carefully applied to the back, giving it a charming loft‑side feel. The wood shows decades of honest wear and patina, making it perfect as rustic décor, quirky storage, or a heritage piece for anyone who loves racing history or cottage‑core treasures.
